South American Vino
Chile and Argentina produce some of the best wine values available in the world. Both countries were planted with European vines as early as the sixteenth century in Chile, and the eighteenth century in Argentina.
After the attack of an aphid called Phylloxera devastated the vineyards of Europe, making it necessary for them all to be replanted using American root stocks, South America is the only place where the original varietals are grown.
