From the Shadows Maynards Market & Kitchen Unveils Their First Ever Vampire Dinner

Tucson, AZ (October 6, 2015) The myth and macabre of the vampire has excited us mere mortals for centuries, but it’s the longevity of the ominous figure that continues to inspire a devout industry. This Halloween, Maynards Kitchen has partnered with the UA College of Social & Behavioral Science’s Downtown Lecture Series on Immortality to bring Tucson a one-of-a-kind dinner. The three-course wine dinner on Wednesday, October 28 has been prepared exclusively by Executive Chef Michael Byrer to honor the immortal being. Tickets are limited, as this is also a fundraiser for the college, and available for purchase online or at Maynards for $65++ per person. They have also outdone themselves as their guest of honor that evening is Jerrold Hogle, a nationally-recognized scholar on the immortality of the mythic vampire from the University of Arizona. The mixer with spooky cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres, such as blood sausage, begins at 7:30 p.m. with the first course served promptly at 8 p.m.

Maynards Kitchen unveils not only a dinner fit for the undead, but those who purchase tickets will receive V.I.P. seating at the lecture that evening hosted at the Fox Theatre as well as free valet parking at the Madden Media lot. Hogle’s lecture discusses how the vampire came to be a symbol of social and psychological evils and examines the evolution of the vampire from 19th Century gothic fiction to today’s pop culture. Having served as the President of the International Gothic Association, Hogle makes the perfect guest of honor for the decadent and dark dinner.
